Founded in 2016, Indeed Cleaning provides janitorial and clean up services at construction, commercial, and residential sites. They specialize in everything from COVID-19 clean up, debris removal, concrete polishing, and apartment cleaning. To outsiders, it may seem as though Indeed Cleaning is a well-oiled machine that has always been a leader in its field. What they don’t know, however, is the critical role that grit and faith has played into the company being where it is today. Owner and founder Jackeline started Indeed Cleaning during a time in her life that was challenging personally and professionally. Having already lost a business and asking friends and family for help to keep her family afloat, Jackeline was inspired to start a cleaning service. She worked hard and was satisfied having something of her own to get back on her feet, but a friend encouraged her to think bigger. Jackeline, up to the task, set her sights on securing projects with large, prominent clients. With persistence and Jackeline’s belief system, Indeed Cleaning has grown into an organization that’s in high-demand and respected for its quality work.
Indeed Cleaning’s rise wasn’t easy. Construction is an industry that often pays its vendors weeks after a project has been completed, but Jackeline knew she couldn’t make her growing team wait for their paychecks. She needed a solution to make sure payroll was timely and consistent. Her first thought was to turn to the major banks. With a less-than-ideal credit score, she had no luck. “I couldn’t get loans from anybody,” she recalls. An executive from one institution did advise her about bookkeeping and about certifying her company as a minority-owned business, but nothing more. “They didn’t help me with money. PCR did.” Even as an entrepreneur with no collateral, Jackeline says of PCR, “It wasn’t easy at first, but they trusted me.” No longer worried about paying her employees on time, Jackeline was able to set her sights on making business relationships with the best of the best.
Thanks in part to PCR, it’s taken Indeed Cleaning 2 years to grow to a size that other companies typically reach after 10. Today, Indeed Cleaning has also beat out competition from companies that have thousands of employees and their most recent accomplishment is securing a project at a sports arena being built by two of the largest construction companies in the nation.
When asked what advice Jackeline would give to other entrepreneurs, she’s generous with words of encouragement. “You have to have faith in yourself. You have to have strength,” she says. Remembering many of the struggles she faced in the beginning of Indeed Cleaning’s journey, Jackeline cites her spiritual beliefs and ambition as her main drivers. She also stresses the importance of being relatable to the team that’s helping build one’s business. “The business is successful because of the employees. Make your employees feel like they’re part of a community.” Not only does Indeed Cleaning pay its employees above the minimum wage, Jackeline also makes sure they know she’s there for them. “I relate to what they’re going through because I know all of those struggles. I want people that need my help.” Relying on the same faith that fueled Indeed Cleaning’s growth, Jackeline knows she can use her good fortune to help others. “I’ve been very blessed and I want to keep on growing and hiring more people.” Lastly, she encourages fellow business owners to engage institutions like PCR for their funding needs. “I think they’re more personal than larger institutions and they try to help you in every way possible,” she says.
