PCR Business Finance Selected for Citi Foundation Community Progress Makers Initiative: Awarded $1 Million in Unrestricted Support Over Three Years
PCR Business Finance is thrilled to announce its selection as part of the fourth cohort of the Citi Foundation’s Community Progress Makers initiative. This prestigious recognition includes an award of $1 million in unrestricted support over three years, enabling PCR Business Finance to further its mission of connecting low-income communities to greater economic opportunities.
PCR Business Finance President and CEO Mark J. Robertson, Sr. notes “PCR’s board and its entire team could not be more grateful for the Citi Foundation’s $1,000,000 Community Progress Makers grant. This is the largest un-restricted grant received in PCR’s 47-year history, and we will feel its impact for years to come; in other words, it is “game changing”. This flexible operational award will allow PCR’s management to fund immediate and ongoing company needs for scale, to increase support of underserved and BIPOC small businesses that have nowhere else to turn for financial and advisory services.
Additionally, and just as important, the PCR team is looking forward to joining the Community Progress Makers learning community. We are the first to admit our own limitations, and we are excited to gain and share best practices with the prior cohorts of Community Progress Makers awardees.
Further, congratulations to the other local recipients. We are humbled to be included among so many whose work inspires us to be better.
Finally, “thank you” seems so inadequate for such a gift, and so the PCR team will work daily to show the Citi Foundation that it made the right decision in its selection of PCR.”
First launched in 2015, the Community Progress Makers initiative provides unrestricted funding to visionary organizations working locally to address pressing issues such as affordable housing, economic development, financial health, and workforce readiness. With this latest cohort, the Citi Foundation has committed a total of $115 million in grants to Community Progress Makers since its inception.
